While Liberty is working tirelessly, they cannot give us a 100% guarantee power will be back up by morning. So, the decision whether to have school tomorrow will be made early in the morning. Unless power comes back sooner. Stay tuned Cats.

For those of you on Liberty: 💧 Liberty Water Customers in Aurora and Verona, Missouri – Update: 12:35 p.m., April 30 We will have another bottled water distribution from 1-3 p.m. at Aurora City Hall, located at 2 W Pleasant, Aurora, MO 65605. Please drive through the sewer payment lane and we will load your vehicle. The charging trailer will also be available again on the south side. We are monitoring the weather and will continue as long as weather permits. Huge thank you to Casey’s General Store for a donation of four pallets of water that will help support this afternoon’s distribution in Aurora and Verona! ♥ (Thank you for the delivery, Michael and Derek!) A voluntary, precautionary boil advisory is still in effect for customers in Aurora and Verona while we wait for samples to come back from the lab. During a boil advisory, it is recommended that customers: - Boil water vigorously for three minutes prior to use for cooking or drinking. - Let water cool sufficiently before drinking. - Disinfect food contact surfaces (dishes) by immersing them for at least one minute in clean tap water that contains one teaspoon of unscented household bleach per gallon of water. - Dispose of ice cubes and remake with water that has been boiled. - Water used for bathing does not need to be boiled. We will provide an update when the voluntary, precautionary boil advisory is lifted. If you have questions or you are still experiencing low water pressure, please call our Customer Care team at 1-800-206-2300. To follow updates about the electric restoration efforts impacting the water system, visit our website: https://central.libertyutilities.com/all/storm-response.html

Verona Schools report all students and staff are safe. The school is without power, however. We are going to be contacting parents to make plans to get students safely home. Our busses will run routes if possible after this parental contact; however, there is a chance routes are blocked by power lines. Please be patient as staff try to contact all parents. If you are able, please come to school to pick up your student. Check in through the school offices.

🎉📚 Celebrating Published Young Authors! 📚🎉 We are so proud to celebrate two of our talented students whose creative writing has been selected for publication in the 2024 Young Writers "Fright Club" Poetry and Creative Writing Contest! 🌟 This past October, Mrs. Metcalf submitted their imaginative and skillful work to the national competition, and out of more than 50,000 entries across the country, both pieces were chosen to be published in a book titled Fright Club. What an incredible accomplishment! This is a huge honor for our small but mighty school, and a wonderful reminder of the power of creativity, perseverance, and student voice. ✍️📖 Please help us congratulate Emiley Hubert and Alexander Baker on this amazing achievement! We can’t wait to see where your words take you next. 💫 #StudentSuccess #YoungAuthors #PublishedWriters #FrightClub #ProudSchoolMoment
