We have been writing members of the military along with veterans in Mrs. Shooks class as part of our community project. This week, one of our students received a letter back with a special Navy coin in it, very exciting!

Kindergarten has been an exciting few weeks! We celebrated good choices with a bubble party, learned about penguins, and explored shapes (even making some with our food!). Tom and Tabby Cat taught us about responsibility , and we experienced Lunar New Year with dumpling soup and a secret red envelope message. Learning about kindness and different cultures showed us that our differences make the world beautiful.

It was a beautiful day to be outside! The 3rd and 4th grade teachers organized a game of kickball. The students had a lot of fun and learned about competitive sports! It was a great way to end our Gamify Day!

Fourth grade has been enjoying Gamify Day! We've played word games, math games, and giant board games! It has been a fun morning of learning!
The HS Girls Basketball team had a great time watching MSU Lady Bears take on Drake University last Friday night. It was an awesome game and such a blessing to have such support for our girls from the MSU Athletics! We greatly appreciated the tickets!!
Week of January 26th - February 1st
Nurse Shara came to visit the 3rd and 4th grade classes today. She will be using the MyPlate program to teach them about good nutrition. They really enjoyed the game she had for them!
Updated game time: The basketball games at home verses New Heights on January 28, 2025 will have a 5:30 pm start time.
Students in 4th grade learned about inauguration day! They watched as the vice president and president elect were sworn into office. Since they were only in kindergarten during the last inauguration, this was a historic event for them!
Update: the TeamReach Code for the 4/5th grade boys basketball team is: Verona25. There is no space in it.
4/5th grade boys basketball first practice will be February 3rd in the Old Gym. Physicals are needed for each student. TeamReach code is: Verona 25. Contact Mr. Stumbaugh with any questions.
The Girls Basketball Game for tonight has been canceled due to the illness of the Coach. The Boys Basketball Game at McAuley is still on and will start immediately following McAuley's Homecoming Ceremony which starts at 6:00 PM.
Preschool got to help feed the winter birds today. We made pinecone bird feeders. 🐦
