❄️ Verona R-VII Winter Weather Cancellation Procedures ❄️
As the winter weather months approach, the Verona R-VII School District wants to ensure our families, staff, and community are informed and prepared for possible school closures or early dismissals.
How We Decide
The safety of our students and staff is always our top priority. District administrators closely monitor weather forecasts, road conditions, and guidance from local officials. When inclement weather makes it unsafe to operate buses or conduct school safely, a decision will be made to cancel school or adjust the school day. Every effort is made to make thoughtful, timely decisions with safety at the forefront.
What to Expect
❄️Closure Announcements: School closure decisions will typically be made the night before or by 6:00 AM.
❄️Early Dismissals: If conditions change during the day, notifications will be sent as soon as a decision is made.
❄️The district will use a combination of AMI days and built-in snow days to ensure we meet the instructional hour requirements outlined in our master calendar.
How We Communicate
Once a decision is made, families will be notified through multiple channels:

The Culinary Arts class has started a new venture this semester. Each week they create a menu, and sell lunch to the staff on Thursdays. The first week started off strong with potato soup, dinner roll, side salad, and a chocolate chip cookie.
