Due to the weather event from today April 29, 2025, Verona Schools will be closed tomorrow, Wednesday April 30, 2025. This is our 2nd weather day, and will not need to be made up.

Verona Schools report all students and staff are safe. The school is without power, however. We are going to be contacting parents to make plans to get students safely home. Our busses will run routes if possible after this parental contact; however, there is a chance routes are blocked by power lines. Please be patient as staff try to contact all parents. If you are able, please come to school to pick up your student. Check in through the school offices.

🎉📚 Celebrating Published Young Authors! 📚🎉
We are so proud to celebrate two of our talented students whose creative writing has been selected for publication in the 2024 Young Writers "Fright Club" Poetry and Creative Writing Contest! 🌟
This past October, Mrs. Metcalf submitted their imaginative and skillful work to the national competition, and out of more than 50,000 entries across the country, both pieces were chosen to be published in a book titled Fright Club. What an incredible accomplishment!
This is a huge honor for our small but mighty school, and a wonderful reminder of the power of creativity, perseverance, and student voice. ✍️📖
Please help us congratulate Emiley Hubert and Alexander Baker on this amazing achievement! We can’t wait to see where your words take you next. 💫

🎉💙 April Character Kids Alert! 💙🎉
At Verona Elementary, we believe that character counts—and this month, we're shining the spotlight on some truly amazing students who embody the heart of what it means to work together.
👏👏 Please help us celebrate our April Character Kids, chosen by their classmates for showing outstanding COOPERATION! 👏👏
These students know how to be great teammates, problem-solvers, and positive leaders in and out of the classroom. Whether it’s sharing ideas, helping a friend, or working toward a common goal, they show us every day that we’re better together. 💪🤝✨
🌟 Their kindness, teamwork, and willingness to pitch in remind us all what it looks like to lift each other up—and we are SO proud of them!
🐾Way to go, Wildcats! 🐾 Let’s keep working hard and growing together through the rest of the school year! 🌱💛
