Good Afternoon,
This is Naomi Austin the Jr. High/ High School Principal. I wanted to touch base with you on a few things. First of all, regarding the student backpacks. Students are allowed to bring backpacks and bags to school. They are not allowed to carry their backpacks into the classrooms. Backpacks and bags lining the isles pose a tripping hazard for both students and staff. The amount of weight students were carrying all day on their backs is also a concern. The regulation of backpacks and bags is also recommended to help enforce safety procedures related to the Safe Schools Act. Every student in the building is issued a locker. They may checkout locks from the office. Students may also bring their own locks if they share the combination or spare key with the office. Students in sports or PE may use lockers in the locker rooms.
We also need your help with home information forms. Every student was given a packet and asked to bring the forms back filled out and signed by parents. It is very important that we have the student information updated in our system. There were technology use agreement forms included in those packets that must be signed by parents and students. There is also a form that gives permission for trips. Without these forms students will not be allowed to use school technology or attend school trips. If your student needs another packet, we have them in the office. Thanks in advance for your help with this matter.
There is a new school app and website. The website is www.veronar7.net and the app can be found by searching Verona R7 in the app store of your phone. When you download the app, you can select notifications and get automatic updates pushed to your phone. There is also a new district Facebook page and district Twitter account. All of these communication tools are connected to our school app.
You will find the brand new weekly Newsletter on the website and school app. All of these tools are new to us. I just learned to use the auto call yesterday and we are learning new features daily. Please be patient as we work to make communication easier and more frequent. You may contact me with questions, and I’d love to hear your suggestions.

Este es el director de la escuela secundaria / preparatoria Naomi Austin Jr. Quería comunicarme contigo en algunas cosas. Primero que nada, con respecto a las mochilas para estudiantes. Los estudiantes pueden llevar mochilas y bolsos a la escuela. No se les permite llevar sus mochilas a las aulas. Las mochilas y bolsas que cubren las islas representan un peligro de tropiezo tanto para los estudiantes como para el personal. La cantidad de peso que los estudiantes cargaban todo el día sobre sus espaldas también es una preocupación. Hay una nueva aplicación de la escuela y un sitio web. El sitio web es www.veronar7.net y la aplicación se puede encontrar buscando en Verona R7 en la tienda de aplicaciones de su teléfono.
